Sanders Says US Immigration Policies Should Unite Families


sandDemocratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders is intensifying his outreach to minority voters in an effort to expand his coalition.

The Vermont senator spoke Monday in Kansas City at a conference of the National Council of La Raza, a Latino advocacy group. His Democratic competitors, Martin O’Malley and Hillary Rodham Clinton, were set to speak later in the day.

Sanders says President Barack Obama’s executive order deferring deportation for some people should be expanded to include parents of those who have been living in the country illegally since childhood. He said there should be “a path to citizenship, so people can come out of the shadows.”

Clinton also has said an immigration overhaul must include a path to “full and equal citizenship” for people living in the U.S. illegally.

    So there you have it. The Democrats are having a race to the far far extreme radical left. They are going to make Barry look like a moderate. They can just hire La Raza to join their team.

  2. I agree with Mr Sanders about reuniting families. Let’s send all the illegals back to their country of origin and reunite them with their families.

    The 14th Amendment says “All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside.”

    It is not just the law. It is the Constitution.

  4. Uniting families isn’t the hot topic. And as long as the 14th amendment is held to apply to the children of non-citizens, once people arrive it won’t take long for them to have an “anchor” baby.

    The real issue is whether foreigners, especially from neighborhing countries, who want to work for a living,can come to America, where they do tend to work hard and help to build up the USA, but take away jobs from Americans who lack the skills or desire to industrious workers.
