Gov. Huckabee Stands by ‘Oven Statement’ at Ancient Shilo

2Republican Presidential nominee Gov. Mike Huckabee re-affirmed his recent comments on Iran during an impromptu press conference at Ancient Shiloh in the Shomron, prior to a fundraiser at the site. Asked if he regretted his statement that “The President will take the Israelis to the oven”, Huckabee responded: “It was the Iranians who invoked the imagery and very word Holocaust, they have said that they have developed missiles that will deliver Israel to the Holocaust. Those are their words, Israeli officials regularly remind the people of Israel and the people of the world that the Iranians’ intent is to wipe Israel off the map. As an American, I am concerned that as an American, the second thing that they threat and chant is that they will bring death to America.”

Asked why he had chosen to come to Ancient Shiloh, Huckabee responded: “I am delighted tonight to be here at Shiloh… It is an exciting place and an important place. It is the place where the Tabernacle once was. It’s a place of Biblical history…I am personally happy that we’ve had our event here tonight and hope that it will bring some attention to this wonderful piece of history for people of faith.” He went on to stress “If you’re going to visit Israel, you should visit all of Israel and that would include Judea and Samaria.”

  1. he was right on the money. what do you think will happen when Chas veshalom Iran or hezballah to whom they will transfer the nuclear technology decide to actually rid themselves of the state of Israel and nuke it/ will it be any less devastating than the ovens? ask the people in Hiroshima. We are uncomfortable with the word but the affect is precisely the same except not as drawn out.
