After being released from the hospital where he was treated for an infection in his leg, HaGaon HaRav Baruch Mordechai Mizrachi Shlita headed for his Ateret Yisrael Yeshiva for Kol Nidrei. During the tefilla a fire broke out in the yeshiva. The rav then davened on Yom Kippur in his home, with a minyan, and he returned to yeshiva for Ne’eila.

The rav was released hours before yomtov and B”H was in yeshiva for Kol Nidrei. During the tefilla a number of bochrim smelled “something burning” and they went out to check what was going on. They saw flames coming out of one of the air conditioning units.

The fire department was summoned and the blaze was extinguished without incident. It appears the fire was caused by an electric short circuit.
