Har Habayis Activist Questioned by Israel Police

rmRefael Morris runs the organization called “Returning to the Mount”, an organization that encourages visiting Har Habayis, the permitted areas, in line with halachic guidelines. Morris was detained and questioned by police, apparently in connection with a new effort, offering payment for persons willing to go to Har Habayis and daven.

Morris was arrested for soliciting others to commit a crime for non-Muslims are prohibited from davening on the holy site. Morris denies the allegations against him, expressing harsh criticism against Israel Police for questioning Jews who are working to encourage Jews to visit Har Habayis while Mourabitoun women who harass Jews visiting the site are permitted to return despite their provocative actions.

These actions encourage the murder of Jews. We must remember receiving financial compensation for tefilos is a basic right in the Jewish state” he added. Yehuda is being arraigned in the Jerusalem Magistrate Court and police are requesting to extend his remand. He is being represented by attorney Itamar Ben-Givir.

It is added that Gedolei Yisrael throughout the generations have ruled one may not visit Har Habayis. This is the ruling of Gedolei Yisrael today as well, in addition to being the position of the Chief Rabbinate of Israel.

  1. Something doesn’t add up in this story. There is NO crime in the Israeli penal code against non muslims praying on Har Habayis. It’s the Waqf’s rules.

  2. Are The Temple Activists the Sicarri of Today? In THe Gemarah it says during the First War against Rome the Romans had Jerusalem surrounded and under siege and the rabbis wanted to make pace to save lives and the future and Sicarii Fanatics wanted war at all costs forcing their decision on the public. Are these Mount Activists These Sicarii of TOday!! IS THE BLOOD OF EVERY INNOCENT Man, Woman and child from the past many days On Their Hand!! The Moslem Chant is That This is For Al Aqsa! And Most Rabbis Say It is KAREIS (or Kareit) to Go on HAr habayis (without Para Aduma and Tveila) So What is Going On! What about Har Hazaeism where it is a Strategic Hilltop and ancient Jewish cemetery with constant Arab vandalism – why not send People THERE!! (its NOT Karet – Kareis There!

  3. Refael Morris, you say that “you encourage visiting Har Habayis, the permitted areas, in line with halachic guidelines.”

If you really follow Halacha, then you might have been unaware that the Mishnah Berurah (561:5) states, “Even after the Bais HaMikdash was destroyed, the Mount upon which the Bais HaMikdash stood still retains its special sanctity. Therefore, today, while we are all in a state of tumah, ritual defilement, it is strictly forbidden for a Jew to enter the Temple Mount.”
