A homicide investigation is underway in a wealthy area of Scarsdale after a Jewish woman was found murdered Wednesday morning.
Police say that at 10:09AM, a 61-year-old man who lives in the home called 911, saying there was a seriously injured person in the home. That man is now in police custody, and sources confirm to YWN that the man in custody is the husband of the victim.
The victim is a 58-years-old pediatrician affiliated with Montefiore Hospital in the Bronx.
Scarsdale police Capt. Thomas Alpizio told the media “This is not a random act. This was an isolated incident,” he said. “It poses no threat” to the public.
Westchster County Police Chaplain, Rabbi Jeremy Reichberg and Misaskim are working to ensure proper Kavod HaNifteres is given.
Misaskim thanked the Westchester Police Commissioner George Longworth, and the Westchester County Crime Scene Unit for their sensitivity.
