Ex-NY Congressman Michael Grimm Released From Federal Prison

grimFormer New York congressman Michael Grimm says he hasnt ruled out a return to politics after being released from federal prison following his conviction for tax evasion.

In an interview Friday with Time Warner Cables NY1, Grimm said that his experience as an inmate at a federal penitentiary in western Pennsylvania was a horrible experience that he wouldnt wish on anyone.

The Staten Island Republican pleaded guilty in December 2014 to aiding in the filing of a false tax return. He served about seven months at the McKean Federal Correctional Institution in Lewis Run and was released in April. He said he is serving the remainder of his sentence on house arrest.

Grimm says he plans to work as a prison-reform activist and is also working on a book.
