George Washington Bridge Case Conspirator Makes Case To Keep List Private

chrAn attorney for a person seeking to stop the release of a list of unindicted co-conspirators in the 2013 George Washington Bridge lane-closing case has filed another brief in support of his argument.

Several media organizations including The Associated Press are seeking access to the list.

In Wednesday’s filing, attorney Jenny Kramer rejects the media organizations’ contention that the list should be publicly accessible because it’s an extension of the charging document against two former allies of Gov. Chris Christie.

Her client, identified as John Doe, argues he will be branded a criminal if the list is released, even though he hasn’t been charged.

A federal appeals court is to hear arguments next week.

Last month a judge in Newark ordered the list released, giving rise to Doe’s appeal.
