Mother And Child Hospitalized After Heater Causes A Fire In Their Tzfat Home


mdaA 22-year-old mom and her 3-year-old son are listed in moderate condition on Thursday morning 1 Kislev after being overcome by carbon dioxide. Officials in Ziff Hospital report a kerosene heater caused a fire, which led to their injuries from inhaling the CO2.

The two were transported to a local hospital in a MDA ambulance. Upon arrival in the hospital the medical team began aggressive oxygen therapy. The child remains in an intensive care unit, listed in moderate/stable condition, reports Dr. Yuri Viner, Chief of the Pediatric ICU.

Mom and her son was taken for treatment in a hyperbaric chamber during the early morning hours and are now recovering. While the report does not mention where, the closest hyperbaric chamber from Tzfat is in Rambam Medical Center in Haifa.
