Winter Coming To Israel This Week And G-d Willing, Bringing Badly-Needed Rainfall

1There is a buzz in Yerushalayim as some believe there will be snowfall in the capital this week, but sorrowfully for them, this is not in the forecast. However, temperatures will be dropping and rain is in the forecast for Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Shabbos.

Snowfall is mentioned however, albeit for Mount Hermon, the top of the Golan Heights, far far away from the capital. That snow may spread towards other mountainous areas beginning midweek.

The forecast for Jerusalem is:

  • Sunday, 11 Kislev: 56F during the day to 45F at night with 0% rain predicted
  • Monday, 61-44 with a 0% rainfall predicted
  • Tuesday, 57-46 with a 60% chance of rain
  • Wednesday, 49-40 with a 70% chance of rain
  • Thursday, 51-41 with a 40% chance of rain
  • Friday, 53-40 with a 50% chance of rain
  • Shabbos, 53-38 with a 40% chance of rain
