Emergency Kenos Called Due To Attack Against Gur Shul In Arad


gurHealth Minister Yaakov Litzman on Monday evening 12 Kislev called for an urgent kenos to discuss the recent attack against the Gur Beis Medrash in Arad, an attack believed to have been perpetrated by young secular youths. Litzman declared “they crossed a line and today it is in Arad and tomorrow it will be in Yerushalayim. We must respond – strongly”.

Litzman stressed “This struggle is not just about Arad. It is correct that is where it occurred and it the tzibur remains silent, this might be the outcome”.

Jerusalem Councilman Yossi Deutsch added “Chalila for us that the battleground has come to the shuls. Today it is Arad and tomorrow, unfortunately it will come to Kiryat Yovel in Yerushalayim. This is something that must be stope in its tracks”.

Litzman told participants in the meeting “I spoke with Minister of Public Security Gilad Erdan who will be meeting with the Police Chief but nevertheless that must understand a line was crossed a red line”.

“A shul has become a wild place overrun by hostile elements. It is a red line that compels us to stop and react strongly. I ask you to join us, despite the short notice, this coming Shabbos. I also cannot predict the weather but it will not take more than a quarter of an hour, a bit more than tefillas musaf”.
