MDA To Cut Services In Judea and Samaria; United Hatzalah To INcrease Services

ichFollowing the announcement made earlier by Magen David Adom Ambulance Services (MDA), regarding the diminishing of their services to Judea and Samaria, United Hatzalah will be increasing services to the affected areas of Judea, Samaria, and the northern border region. United Hatzalah is strongly recommending that citizens begin using the emergency number 1221, which contacts the United Hatzalah national dispatch center directly, in an effort to cut down on EMS response time.

According to the official statement that was received from MDA, starting tomorrow, Friday, December 30th, the EMS services, including ambulance coverage, provided in the areas of Judea, Samaria and the northern border region will be diminished. United Hatzalah has instructed its chapters and volunteers to increase their activities and coverage in these areas in an effort to minimize the risk of death or aggravated injury due to a lack of EMS response.

The CEO of United Hatzalah, Moshe Teitelbaum, issued a statement that said, “After receiving the press release issued by MDA, we understand that the ambulance service is cutting back on their coverage due to not having received the full budget that was allotted to them by the Amana housing commission that is partly in charge of these areas. This situation may result in the harming of residents of these areas and may even cost lives. As a volunteer organization that is dedicated to saving lives, we cannot sit idly by. Therefore, we will be increasing our coverage and activity in Judea, Samaria, and the northern border and continuing to do so. We have instructed our volunteers to be on heightened alert and ready for multiple emergency calls. This evening we are already transferring extra equipment to our chapters and volunteers in these areas.”

The President and Founder of United Hatzalah, Eli Beer, added that “in the coming days we will be investigating the possibility of transferring our ambulances to Judea and Samaria and the northern border, and even the possibility of purchasing numerous additional ambulances in order to provide proper coverage to the area and fill the gap left by this turn of events. I call upon the residents of these areas to call our emergency number – 1221 – in the event of any medical emergency. Our national command center will provide an immediate and comprehensive response and alert our volunteers in the area. All of our responders are volunteers, and there is no charge for the emergency services that we provide for public health and safety.”

  1. My question is if Yeshiva world knows the demographics of how Hatzloah works in Israel??? Why so biased aginst MDA…
Ichud kills more then save every since they divided the country by adding a new emergency hotline and delaying the response of an ambulance.
    Sick!!!!

  2. Moish are you kidding before hatzala came around man take an hour to get to heart attack victims let alone something less serious. Now mda is much faster.

  3. You two commentators above are spreading libel against Uniyed Hatzalah that isn’t true.

I am an EMT for MDA and i will correct you on two mistakes:

    1) Hatzalah never delays ambulances. All they do is help the patient UNTIL our ambulances arrive.
They never delay ambulances. Instead, they arrive first and actually help us by telling us when MDA ambulances aren’t needed and should be redirected to another call.

    2) making an additional phone number doesn’t delay anyone eother, because whether people call 101 or 1221 the MDA ambulance and hatzalah EMT’s arrive at the same time. Both MDA and Hatzalah send incoming emergency information to the other organization in seconds and work fluently together.

Shame on you. What right do you have spreading lies about this organization.

They save people’s lives for free, cant ypu give atleasta little hakaras hatov by not libeling them?
