Iran Back in the News Following Latest Deal

Israeli officials are monitoring the Iran’s latest move with extreme interest, an announced fuel swapping deal involving Iran and Turkey, with Tehran announcing it will send 1,200kg of low enriched uranium for an equal quantity of higher grade nuclear fuel with Turkey, stating the fuel will be used for medical research. Iran has called on the international community to review planned increased sanctions in response to its decision to enter into the fuel exchange is a clear indicator supporting government statements.

Iran insists Western nations’ accusations that it is working on an atom bomb are untrue, clinging to its claim of medical research, adding that regarding the deal with Turkey the exchange will take place in Turkey, not in Iran, in accordance with demands from the international community.
