Zaka to Lead IDF Solidarity On Israeli Coastline

In a show of solidarity, support and gratitude to the IDF, 30 boats from the ZAKA Divers Unit will lead a flotilla of tens of private boats along the Tel Aviv coastline on Friday, 4 June from 09:00 – 13:00.

The professional and amateur divers who make up the ZAKA volunteer diving unit will hold banners bearing messages of support for the soldiers and navy commandos who guard the Israeli coastline and borders on a daily basis.

The message, like ZAKA itself, is apolitical: “ZAKA and the people of Israel support the IDF”.

The public is invited to join the flotilla, which will set sail from the Yarkon estuary near the Reading Power Station in Tel Aviv at approximately 09:00, sail northwards to Herzliya, then south to Rishon L’Tzion and back to Tel Aviv.

Chaim Outmezgine, Head of the ZAKA Divers Unit: “Many ZAKA Diving Unit members are ex-Navy commandos and we want to express our support and gratitude to the Navy commandos and IDF soldiers who risk their lives in missions to ensure our safety. ZAKA is an apolitical volunteer organization that helps everyone, regardless of religion, race or creed, and we invite everyone to join us in this flotilla of support, be it on boats or from the shoreline.”
