Lalum Calls on High Court to Release Emanuel Parents Before Shabbos

The Noar K’halacha organization headed by Yoav Lalum has called on the High Court of Justice to release the Emanuel fathers before shabbos, to suspend their sentence for two months, apparently seeking to place their jail time on hold until such time an agreement will be achieved to permit their release.

The state on the other hand experessed objections to the petition, stating the only way the Emanuel fathers can be released is if they agree to abide by the rulings of the High Court of Justice, which happens to be contrary to the rulings of Gedolei Yisrael Shlita.

  1. So the rasha now wants to look like he has charata?

A sinister attempt by him to put these Tzadikim back in prison for the next school years is what it is!

  2. Rav Ovadia did NOT say that (despite the YWN headline and story that implies otherwise). Please reread the story here on YWN, or better yet, on Shas’ own website.

  3. Rav Ovadia Yosef never said that. He was speaking about going to ערכאות in general. If you really care about what the Shas thinks about this subject go to http://www.shasnet.org.il/Front/NewsNet/reports.asp?reportId=127449 and see what they said about this and who they took this to early a few years ago. Since this never went to a Din Torah, you have no right to say this about him. If this went to a Din Torah, then we will see the פסק meanwhile all we have here is a character assasination.

  4. There is no debate just name calling and that’s the root of the problem. Go meet the families and tell me they are no good. אברכים who are learning יומם ולילה.

  5. Yoav is not dealing with the heat…

Sorry Yoav, you will have to sleep in bed that YOU made.

P.S. Who chooses your “interesting” Ties ?.

  6. I live in Emanuel.

I accompanied the mothers whose daughters are in the Beis Yaakov Chasidi, and whose fathers are incarcerated, to the Supreme Court on Tuesday. You can see my article about it on the crosscurrents web site.

The Slonimer Rebbe’s sister was there to give support. She said to me repeatedly, “We say only positive things, we say nothing negative about anyone. All Jews will repent someday, and may we all dance together at the arrival of the Moshiach.” She was most obviously including Yoav Lallum and his support network, hoping for their redemption as well.

The words of the Slonimer Rebbe’s sister.

We need not say negative comments.

Pray for every Yid to do teshuva. Make sure you are doing teshuva too.

And I am eye witness to the agony these women are living through.

  7. I don’t know if he a Rasha or not ( I don’t think it is my responsibility to decide such a thing), I just know that I for one would not want his children in my children’s classes. Maybe he got scared as he didn’t realize where this was going to go but that is exactly why he shouldn’t have gone to a secular court. It seems he got scared and myabe feels some remorse when he saw the fathers being jailed. The court has itself to blame for turning this in to a war between Daas Torah and the secular rulings, but Lalum is responmsible for starting all this and I am sure will give Din Vecheshbon in Beis Din Shel Maala. FIrst he thought he was a big winner, bujt I don’t think he imagined this!!!
