11:00AM EST: The Lakewood Police Department is on the scene of a suspicious package at a private home on 11th Street near Clifton Avenue. Sources tell YWN that the package arrived over Shabbos to the home, which belongs to a Frum family. The family was not home over Shabbos, and just returned home this morning.
The Lakewood PD has requested the Bomb Squad from the New Jersey State Police to respond to the scene.
The Lakewood FD is staging at the scene as well.
UPDATE 11:57AM EST: The package has been properly identified by the bomb squad, and the scene has been reopened.

real-brisker: it seems that you cant read: “The family was not home over Shabbos, and just returned home this morning.” ayin shom
What was the finding? Please provide us with a followup? An innocent package or something else?
I’d be interested in whether it was an innocent package or not. We once found a bag from a non-kosher bagel shop outside our front door. We called the police, etc. only to find that our UPS guy, who had delivered two of our recent packages to someone else, bought us bagels as an apology! Poor guy! He didn’t know we kept kosher and it was an innocent gesture on his part.
