Update From MDA Regarding Northern Israel Fire


MDA Teams, headed by MDA Director General are on High Alert at the Carmel MDA Region.

300 Paramedics, Medics with 67 Ambulances, 11 MICU’s, 2 MCRV’s, 1 Helicopter, are spread throughout the communities and villages in the severely damaged area in the Carmel Forest. MDA Logistics Division is supporting the teams with food, water, warm clothes.

MDA Blood Services have supplied 320 units of Blood Components and 39 Blood Units to the Haifa Hospitals

45 Paramedics with 15 MICUs ready to respond to any additional emergencies are on call in Tel Aviv.

MDA teams have worked energetically right through the night reaching & rescuing casualties, among them 40 fatalities at the site of the trapped bus, evacuating them in the ambulances that arrived from the Central MDA Regions to the Medical Forensic Institute in Tel Aviv.

20 casualties have been treated and evacuated to medical centers in Haifa. 3 in critical condition and the rest moderately and lightly injured, mainly from smoke inhalation.

5 MDA Medics suffered from smoke inhalation received medical attention and are currently at home.

In addition MDA teams, spread  throughout the country, will be providing Medical Backup to the funerals today and in the coming days.

MDA opened a communication center to coordinate community housing for the displaced citizens. Over 1000 families have responded.

In addition MDA teams are continuing to provide the regular services, all over the country, including medical backup to numerous Chanukah public events.     

This high level of alert will continue over the weekend, during  the next 48 hours.
