Antisemitic Hag, Helen Thomas Wants Apology from Obama, Reasserts Zionists Own White House

Nine months after anti-Semitic remarks forced her to resign from her post as a White House correspondent, Helen Thomas remains unrepentant, demanding an apology from President Barack Obama and defending her assertion that Zionists own the White House and Congress.

Speaking at the annual spring convention of College Media Advisers in New York City on Tuesday, Thomas said, “I want an apology from the president,” Editor and Publisher reported Friday.

Obama criticized her comments in an interview during a Jewish Heritage Month celebration event at the White House last year when Thomas said Israelis should “get the hell out of Palestine” and “go back home to Poland, Germany, America and everywhere else.”

The president later called Thomas’ comments “offensive,” saying, “She made the right decision [to resign].”

In an interview with Playboy magazine for their April edition, Thomas said she knew she had “hit the third rail” when she began speaking about Jews in the interview last June.

“I’ve had it up to here with the violations against the Palestinians,” Thomas said. “Why shouldn’t I say it? I knew exactly what I was doing—I was going for broke. I had reached the point of no return. You finally get fed up.”

The 90-year-old, who revealed former President Jimmy Carter called her to express sympathy following her resignation, also told a magazine she stood by a speech she made last year in which she said, “We are owned by the propagandists against the Arabs. There’s no question about that. Congress, the White House and Hollywood, Wall Street, are owned by the Zionists.”

“I want you to look at the Congress that just came in,” Thomas told the magazine. “Do you think [New York Democratic senator Charles] Schumer and Lehtinen—whatever her name is—in Florida [Republican representative Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, a strong supporter of Israel] are going to be pro-Arab? No. But they’re going to be very influential. Eric Cantor, the majority leader of the Republicans, do you think he’s going to be for the Arabs? Hell no! I’m telling you, you cannot get 330 votes in Congress for anything that’s pro-Arab.”

But Thomas became emotional when the reporter asked what she thought her obituary would say.

“Oh, I know what they’re going to say: ‘anti-Semite,’” said Thomas, beginning to cry. “I’m a reporter. I know damn well what they’re going to say because they have their print, they have their ink. They don’t give a damn about the truth. They have to have it their way, and they’ll be writing my obituary.”

  1. YWN-Helen Thomas is NOT an anti-semite!!!! She is an anti-Zionist. These two things are very different. A JEW, NOT A ZIONIST. (Please take this name calling off your site, it really gives you a bad name.)

We shall wait patiently for GEULA. Peace to all.

  2. The earlier posting is true and correct. Authentic rabbis of the holy Jewish people, like the saintly Chofetz Chaim, zt”l, HoRov HoGaon Elchonon Wasserman, zt”l, and HoRov HoGaon Yosef Chaim Zonnenfeld,zt”l, were Gedolei Yisroel who were revered by all, and they always opposed the movement of nationalism and the plans for a state. They loved the Jewish people (please consider, for example, the kuntrus entitled AHAVAS YISROEL of the saintly Chofetz Chaim, zt”l). All the same, they told us that nationalism and its political embodiment were a sad aberration from the age-old emunois and dei’ois of Toireh and Mesoirah. Although the exile was long and hard for poor Klal Yisroel, they urged Jews to come back to accepting the Divine decree of exile and to wait patiently for redemption which would come completely from HaShem (please see the sefer EFES BILTECHA GOALEINU). Perhaps it would be beneficial to explain these facts pleasantly and politely to readers.

  3. BS”D

May this Purim bring us the end of this Zeresh, unless the malachei hachabala have to wait until the fires of Gehennom are hot enough for her.

  4. tzipor – Maybe to a Jew, Zionism and Judaism might be different. But to a non-Jew, they are ONE AND THE SAME. They just use the word anti-zionist to hide their true feelings.
    Don’t be fooled.

  5. #3 I like your take on emunois vdayois and toirah umsoira .I think your Zair klig. But that face of hers is that you klair a face? ,it looks like her foot.PS shes no anti nothing shes an overbatul shtick tinuf.

  6. A hag is a wizened old woman, or a kind of fairy or goddess having the appearance of such a woman, often found in folklore and children’s tales such as Hansel and Gretel.[1] Hags are often seen as malevolent, but may also be one of the chosen forms of shapeshifting deities, such as the Morrígan or Badb, who are seen as neither wholly beneficent nor malevolent.[2][3] The term appears in Middle English, and was a shortening of hægtesse, an Old English term for witch, similarly the Dutch heks and German hexe are also shortenings, of the Middle Dutch haghetisse and Old High German hagzusa respectively[4]. All these words derive from the Proto-Germanic *hagatusjon-[4] which is of unknown origin, however the first element may be related to the word “hedge”[4].[5] As a stock character in fairy or folk tale, the hag shares characteristics with the crone, and the two words are sometimes used as if interchangeable.[6]
Using the word “hag” to translate terms found in non-English (or non-modern English) is contentious, since use of the word is often associated with a misogynistic attitude

  7. She is an anti-semite; the fact she told the Jews to go back where they came from proves it. This witch does not realize the Jews lived in Syria, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Germany, Poland, Austria, etc and they have been forced out. She is from Lebanon why does she not go back to where she came from. Why should she be comfortable in the US. go fight Hizbullah in her native Lebanon

  8. Helen Thomas deserved what she got. She is trying to cover-up her mistake in judgment by saying “she knew what she was doing.” If she, a respected journalist at the time, wanted to truly “go for broke,” she would not have used a Rabbi with a camcorder to publicize her view of politics.

Having said that, I ask you: what is justice?
She lost her job, has been publicly shamed, and her career is over. Yet I read calls for her speedy death, that she should burn in gehenim, and that she should suffer other punishments. Enough! Who are we to call for such punishments? What is justice if it is not tempered with rachamim?
I am NOT defending her. I’m worried about two things:
    1) Those of us who are willing to wish death upon others and consign them to hell: where is your sense of proportion?
    2) The appearance you give of the Jewish people to all who read this site. Are we truly blood-thirsty that we want people to die for expressing an opinion we disagree with? If we send her to hell for being a voice of anti-semitism, what do you do with people who pull the trigger or stab a baby to death? Justice has scales. Not everyone deserves the ultimate punishments.

  9. #3 um maybe you are a NKer and therefore no logic will convince you, but you fail to understand a very simple point. When an Orthodox Jews is anti zionist that has to do with religious reasons. When a Goy does not believe the Jews have a right to have a state that makes them an anti semite. It really is very simple concept. Do not quote me on this but I believe the Satmar Rov, who as everyone knows was a fierce anti-zionist stated exactly what I did above.

BTW sorry for the typo- may she have a speady death.

#12 do you believe Julius Streicher should not have gotten the death penalty? After all he never killed anyone, just incited hatred against Jews? Very dumb comment.

  10. The real question is: Why are you calling Ms. Thomas a “hag”? If it were a man who made these anti-semetic remarks would you use a disparaging “male” word? I don’t think so.

  11. Mark levin if you ever opened a gemara you would know there is an man deamra that holds vashti was one of the most beautiful women that ever lived.

  12. Why is she getting any coverage at all, especially here?
The fact the Jimmy Carter called her (if he really did) just shows that he is also an anti-semite, something we already know.

  13. #8 is 100% correct. The Satmar Rav, ZT”L, once met President Truman, and thanked him for all he had done for the State of Israel. Afterwards, he explained that, to a non-Jew, being good to Israel is the equivalent of being good to the Jewish People. Conversely, for a non-Jew to be against Israel is anti-semitism in disguise.

  14. Thanks for that Daniel, do you by any chance know where I can confirm that statement for a fact

    #18 Carter called her?
