State of Emergency Extended in Orange Sullivan Counties


New York – Orange County Executive Edward Diana has extended the emergency declaration through 6 a.m. Saturday.  It was to have expired this morning.

The proclamation prohibits non-essential vehicles on the roads.

As much as two feet of snow fell on the Middletown area as of Friday morning.

In Sullivan County, the state of emergency began at 5 p.m. Thursday and continued through 12 p.m. on Friday.

Town of Fallsburg Supervisor Steven Vegliante declared a state of emergency through 12 p.m., Friday. All town offices were to be closed on Friday.

Wherever there was snow, there were accidents.

Municipal snowplows that are loaded with sand, were skidding off the slippery roads Thursday evening.
