Israel: Southern Border Alerts Continue

Minister of Homefront Affairs Matan Vilnai confirms that security remains high in the south as there are credible intelligence community warnings of a planned major attack by the Islamic Jihad. The minister explains soldiers operating in the area remain on heightened alert, and “they do not remove their helmets and they are aware of threats to abduct a soldier”.

It appears Islamic Jihad terrorists are working to make their way to southern Israel from Sinai to carry out a major attack. In the meantime, IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Benny Gantz has ordered reinforcements along the Egyptian border in light of the credible intelligence community warnings.
