Sunday Morning News Briefs From Eretz Yisrael


Motzei Shabbos: Rock-throwing attacks in the Chevron area. Damage reported. No injuries reported.

** Motzei Shabbos, 20:04: An IDF soldier sustained light injuries in rock-throwing attacks at the Kalandia Ckpt on the N. Jerusalem border.

** Motzei Shabbos, 20:35: A female Arab armed with a knife was taken into custody near a Kiryat Arba IDF base. No injuries reported.

** Motzei Shabbos, 20:40: Arabs hurled rocks are firefighters responding to a brush fire in Upper Nazareth. No injuries reported.

** Motzei Shabbos: Arabs attacked a Jewish shepherd with stones at Sinai Farm in the Southern Chevron Hills. The victim had to abandon his flock and flee for his life. The IDF was summoned.

** PA warns the White House that a veto in the Security Council against Palestinian statehood will destroy and hope of a future two-state solution.

** Motzei Shabbos, 22:37: Firebombs were hurled at border police in the Silwan area of the eastern capital. No injuries reported.

** Firefighters in Yerushalayim were called from their homes in a surprise training exercise on Sunday morning. The event was staged to evaluate response time and performance in such an event. Firefighters were instructed to respond to a major forest fire in the Gilo area in the southern capital.

** Turkey has released a message to the European Union, that if Cyprus is appointed to the rotating leadership position next year, Ankara will freeze relations with the EU.
