FM Lieberman Visiting the Ukraine

Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman is left on Sunday (4 Tishrei) to visit Ukraine. In Kiev, the minister is scheduled to meet with President Viktor Yanukovych, Prime Minister Mikola Yanovitch Azarov, and with Foreign Minister Kostyantyn Gryshchenko.

FM Liberman will participate in ceremonies marking 70 years since the Babi Yar massacre and will lay the cornerstone for the Babi Yar museum to be built in Kiev.

Liberman said that the killing ravine of Babi Yar is a prominent symbol of the hell on earth that the Jews of Europe experienced during the terrible years of the Holocaust. The fact that 70 years later officials of the Government of Israel will stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Ukrainian government officials at a memorial ceremony for that terrible massacre emphasizes that we will never forget the 100,000 who were murdered there, and that the State of Israel will never permit Jews to be harmed anywhere in the world, just because they are Jews.
