Yosh MDA Personnel Planning To Strike

It appears that Magen David Adom is making good on its plan to remove the Magen David from ambulances stationed in Yehuda and Shomron, as was reported by YWN-Israel in August.

According to some MDA volunteers in yishuvim in Yehuda and Shomron (Yosh), a number of ambulances have been stripped of their MDA identities, explaining MDA must do so to avoid being viewed as cooperating with the “occupation” towards acceptance in the International Red Cross, which carries an annual perk of $1.5 million for the Israeli organization.

MDA vehemently denies the move is aimed at yishuvim, explaining they are removing the Red Magen David from ambulances in some kibbutzim and other communities as well.

Yosh officials reply by explaining that is simply “a scam” intended to dupe the public into believing MDA is not acquiescing to the IRC agenda, which entails “simply selling out for monetary gain”.

Many persons responsible for manning ambulances throughout Yehuda and Shomron indicate they will be striking beginning after Yom Kippur. Some question the wisdom of such a strike, as the victims will only be neighbors, community residents who are in need of emergency medical assistance.

  1. If the ambulances no longer show the Magen David, then they no longer represent the MDA as such and I would call on all donors to withhold donations to the MDA as it no longer represents the interest of our brethren but has become a political statement of which is abhorrent to myself and anyone other Jew who believes that Israel is ours because G-D gave it to us!

  2. So establish the “Mogen David Adom” in the West Bank has a separate committee for the Israelis. Everyone is happy. The International Committee of the Red Cross can’t complain about the Israelis being in the West Bank, and there is nothing to prevent a national red cross affiliate to work with other organizations.

Remember two other facts: 1) The International Committee of the Red Cross has a long history of anti-Semitism; 2) Israel does not claim to own the West Bank – under Israeli law it is occupied territory

  3. if they take off their magen david, then they shouldn’t called MDA. and yes, people should stop donations and give them instead to hatzolah
