Residential Housing Planned at IBA Romeima Site

According to media reports, the Israel Broadcasting Authority headquarters located in the Romeima area of Yerushalayim will be moved to another location to permit construction of hundreds of housing units on the plot of land.

The daily HaMevaser reports that while the final permits for the move are pending, it does appear that the state-run station’s broadcast building will relocate to the old Shaare Zedek Hospital complex, on Jaffa Street nearby, where the IBA offices have already moved. City Hall explains that the new entity will be an IBA complex containing the broadcast entity as well as administrative offices.

The location is in the heart of chareidi Yerushalayim, opposite Ganei Geula and a short walk to the Central Bus Station.
