Shurat HaDin – Israel Law Center has filed a petition in the High Court of Justice in Jerusalem today demanding that the government be compelled to hunt and prosecute fugitive Palestinian terrorist suspected of attacks against Israelis.
On July 15, 2007, Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert announced that the Israel Defense Forces (“IDF”) would no longer hunt 180 fugitive members of the Fatah wing of the PLO. The decision was purported to be a “good will” gesture to PLO leader Mahmoud Abbas and came about as a result of pressure by the United States State Department. Under the deal, the fugitive terrorists would sign statements pledging not to engage in future terror attacks and turn in their weapons. They then would be recruited into the Palestinian police force as a means of strengthening Abbas in the PLO’s struggle against Hamas.
Despite Israel’s fulfillment of its promise not to hunt the wanted terrorists, to date the majority of the fugitives have refused to sign the pledge. Moreover, the handful of rifles
turned in by the PLO have been antiques and outdated models.
Terrorists from Abbas’ wing of the PLO, acting under the guise of the so-called “Fatah Tanzim” and the “Martyrs of al-Aqsa” terror groups perpetrated some of the most heinous terror attacks in recent years which resulted in the murder and injuring of thousands of Israeli civilians. The decision not to arrest them amounts to nothing short of a de facto pardon of those suspected of murder and attempted murder of Israeli civilians.
The Shurat HaDin petition argues that the Prime Minister’s decision to restrict the IDF from hunting the Fatah terrorists is unreasonable and poses a serious threat to the Israeli public. The terrorists understand that they are now free to carry out their attacks with impunity and they will neither be arrested nor killed.
The petition notes that the Prime Minister lacks the authority to pardon those suspected of criminal acts. Under Israeli law only the president of the state has the power to grant clemency. In addition, only the Attorney General has the authority to decide whether or not to order the arrest and prosecution of those who engaged in criminal activity. By agreeing to the deal Prime Minister Olmert has overstepped his authority.
Moreover, the Shurat HaDin petition contends that the new policy is in violation of international law. Every nation has a right and an obligation to enforce its criminal laws against terrorists. Terrorism, like crimes against humanity, must be prosecuted by every state whenever the perpetrators of the crimes fall within its jurisdiction. Israel cannot unilaterally decide that it will no longer hunt and prosecute suspects in terror attacks simply because they come from the Fatah organization. Every terrorist is “hostis humanis generis” – the enemy of all mankind and every state is obligated to bring him to justice.
The government has refused to release the names of the Fatah fugitives it has pardoned and, as such, the families of the victims of Palestinian terror have no idea if the fugitives responsible for the attacks on their loved ones are included. The petition demands that the High Court compel the government and IDF to recommence its fight against the Fatah terrorists.
According to Shurat HaDin Director Nitsana Darshan-Leiner: “It is immoral to offer these cold blooded Palestinian killers a pardon for their terror attacks against Israeli civilians simply because they are from Fatah. Every country in the world is obligated to pursue terrorists and bring them to justice. How can the Olmert government imagine that other states will concern themselves with assisting Israel in the war against the Palestinian terrorists when we lack the vigilance to combat the terrorists ourselves? The message being sent to the Fatah murderers is that if you kill Israelis you can be assured that after a short period of time, the government will lack the will power to hunt you down. The government’s policy of restraining the IDF is placing every Israeli citizen in grave danger.”

Let’s not forget the soldiers who have risked their lives to defend us from these animals. And the countless who have been injured or killed in attempts to hunt them down…
Although I do not subscribe to the philosophy of the creation of the state of Israel being a “ma’ase satan”, I do believe that the evidence is clear that the initial creation of the state was established with bad [anti- G-d] intentions by Reshaim. Their labor can definitely not bear any good fruit. Therefore, the entire government will be dismantled at some point (either by miraculous events or more natural seeming events, like people revolting against the corruption, etc) and a true, G-d fearing government placed in it’s stead.
The corruption in the founders of the land has followed through to this very day — as we continue to hear of corruption at every level of government. If a person can decide to violate G-d’s laws, it surely shouldn’t be any more difficult to violate the laws of the land (your own or otherwise).
#1 is 100% right
The Israeli Gov. will be dimantled thats 100% clear. Because they are 100% sonai Hashem Reshayim Gemurim. No I am not a N.K. They are also Rashayim Gemurim. It will be rebuilt clean. These guys (Israeli Gov.) are self destructing liers and denaiers of Judaism . They hate Torah Judaism ,they want to be Goyim genurim. The state Will fall, thats vadai. We hope no lives will suffer, except the Yishmaelim and Sec. Z.
I am not NK, but to call them rashayim gemurim is wrong. Can’t people differ from a person without being called bad names?
Remember, there are the original, “real” NK and there are the misguided people who meet with those evil people like Achmenijad (sp).
The genuine NK is as much against Friedman and his cohorts as anyone else. Remember, the NK in Monsey is not the real NK. NK International is not the real NK. Actually even the Lubavitcher Rebbe A”H supported the original NK. Even if you do not like the other Chassidim and Yeshivishe Rabbonim who are clearly against our having a Medina before Biyas HaMoshiach, would the Lubavitcher Rebbe support “Rashayim Gemurim?”
Even most of today’s tziyonim are tinokim shenishbau. They are not the Real Reshayim Gemurim of the original Zionists. They were taught this and they believe it. They are wrong.
But, I believe they are well meaning. Oh, I am not talking about the crooked politicians, that is another story. But, the average zionist today, though they have been mislead, and do not understand that Zionism in itself is absolutely ossur and wrong, most do not mean bad, they are well-intentioned, albeit misguided souls.
Just as a real mechalel Shabbos befarhesya is “K’Ilu Oyved Koichuvim,” most of today’s non-frum who are not shomer Shabbos are not in that category. If you are brought up to know that one must keep Shabbos, and you flaunt your chillul Shabbos, then you ARE K’Ilu Oyved Koichuvim, and you can’t be counted in a minyan, and you make wine ossur, etc.
But if you are raised in a Reform home, or a Conservative home, where you see driving to shul on Shabbos as the norm, and even the “Rabbi” drives on Shabbos, and tells you that it is okay today, then you are NOT in the catogory of K’Ilu Oyved Koichuvim. You are a tinok shenishba.
The same for many of today’s “tziyoynim.”
They were raised in Zionist homes. Heard Rabbis preach it in sermons, had loved one’s perish in the zionist wars, and believe they are right.
Their hatred of the chareidi people is to be understood. We chareidi people are against the MeDina for which their loved ones gave their lives in the supreme sacrifice. For them to accept our position would be to make them feel their fathers, brothers, uncles, etc., gave their lives for nothing, or worse, for a wrong or evil cause. How can we blame them for their feelings?
But that does not make them right either.
So, let’s all have some level of understanding of each other.
When you see a dog barfing ten times in a row you shouldn’t get impressed the 11th time,So why are you getting nispoel when this Vile Rasha continues to spew more rubbish.
How about hunting down and killing the rotzchim who have killed other Jews? Would anyone dispute that fact? And let’s say for argument’s sake there was never a Medinat Yisrael, would you not want to hunt down and kill the murderers of other Jews? Think about it!
