Yisrael Beitenu Introduces A Shabbos Transportation Bill

MKs (Yisrael Beitenu) Oded Forer and Yulia Malinovsky are authoring a bill calling to operate public transportation on Shabbos. The bill intends to provide a “answer” for the majority of the nation, which wants bus service on Shabbos, adding such service would operate at the discretion of local government leaders.

According to the Walla News report, local government will decide if it wishes to operate buses on Shabbos, including the ability to only operate certain lines to provide service to certain populations and areas. Shabbos service would not involve handling money, but payment would be exclusively by smart card.

The bill’s introduction says, “The issue of Shabbos is one of the most important and complex issues in a Jewish democratic state. In most areas of Israel, there is currently no public transportation from the start to the end of Shabbos. This, while private transportation is not restricted. As a result, Israelis without a vehicle are unfairly discriminated against”.

  1. This could cause a security problem in Israel because we need Hashem’s protection.
    Israel was reestablished on miracles.

  2. This shows that the Israeli government has to kick out the apikorsus from the government. They must immediately draft a bill and pass it to eliminate the dregs from the government.
