Last Shabbos, the �Shabbus� project ran limited public bus service in Rosh Ha�ayin on Shabbos, an initiative sponsored by City Councilman (Meretz) Omer Shechter.
A religious councilman is quoted saying �Once again another councilman is seeking headlines. Today, religious and non-religious live together and adhere to the [religious] status quo in the city and it is most unfortunate one is seeking to destroy this�.
The Sephardi Eida Chareidit released a letter of support for local chareidi leaders, calling them to do their utmost to prevent the �breach in the [Shabbos] fence�.
