Olmert Trash-Talks Chareidim In Knesset Session

oc.jpgEhud Olmert decided to bash Chareidim while speaking in the Knesset at a special session addressing the ongoing education crisis.

According to Ynet, Olmert turned his speech towards Chareidi MK’s, and addressed Chareidi education. Addressing UTJ MK Yakov Litzman Olmert stated: “I will tell you what I had told your colleagues before…….if you (Chareidim) were allowed to run the Charedi education system you would destroy it, because you would only hurt one another.”

Olmert furthermore noted: “The Charedi children in Jerusalem had always thanked me for managing their education and said that they were lucky that I was not Charedi. Only a secular Jew, like myself, can manage Charedi education with any semblance of integrity.”

  1. These seculars are so so so jealous of charedi education. No drugs, knives, violence, suicide etc like in the secular education. After the latest strike that really blew all their fuses.

By the way the charedi schools are managed almost entirely by themselves not by the government. So what in the world is that guy speaking about????????

  2. The academic level of the state run schools is at the low end of all industrial countries; let alone the massive problmes of violance and absentism. So whatever the charedi system may be missing, it weights much more then the secular system.

  3. He probebly is talking about handing out the cash.

Look, at a speech about a bankrupt education, he’s got to find some way of taking credit for the one succesful education system in the country…

  4. The government of Israel seems to always be begging Bush to make their decisions for them.
Now they are accusing of chareidim of asking the same of themselves. In Psychology, this is called Transference.

  5. olmert is choking on his own words. maybe a charedi should manage the chiloni education??? would it be a fair trade??? #2 what do you think?

  6. With a two percent approval rating, I don’t think he should mocking others.
    Myseichel

You should be mocking him! this is a prime minister who has been able to keep himself in office above all expectations and has had his approval rating jump by 200% that’s two hundred percent! from a mere 2% approval rating to a whooping 6% !!!

  7. You shouldn’t be mocking him! this is a prime minister who has been able to keep himself in office above all expectations and has had his approval rating jump by 200% that’s two hundred percent! from a mere 2% approval rating he has boomed to whooping 6% !!! what a jerk!

  8. There was actually an article in the Homodia a few weeks ago about how there are different methods for math teaching in Israel. A study was done and the Method of two Charedi woman from Bnei Brak was the most successful. As much as people want to think that charedim in Israel not get a good education they do.

  9. #4 FillyFrum, Thank you for the compliment! I happen to be a professional photographer for the press and many times am asked to take in the knesset. But have no fear,I told Mr. Olmert it wasn’t nice what he said about the chareidim!

  10. “if you (Chareidim) were allowed to run the Charedi education system you would destroy it, because you would only hurt one another.””

He is correct in the sense that each group cares about their own mosdos. There is a reason why in Bnei Brak there isn’t ONE park. Nobody is interested in community.

  11. Olmert’s hubris is going to be his downfall. He seems to know what no one else knows. Next time I have difficulty in understanding a Playsee or Bircas Shmuel I should ask Olmert. In his mind, he would be able to explain it to me.

  12. Who is expecting anything different from a politician in a Golus situation? This is golus. The politicians do not like us. Whether it is the US, Canada, Switzerland, Germany, France, Russia, the geopolitical unit of Olmert. All the same. Golus governments hating us.

The only difference is that this man is more honest in his hatred than a US politician would be.

I dont think #4 FillyFrum was giving you a compliment. In truth the picture makes him look a litlle sickly. If it is true, as you claim, that you were the photographer, perhaps a little more respect before shooting pictures would be in order.
Although I don’t always see eye to eye with Mr. Olmert, he is still our JEWISH Prime Minister. Some respect is in order.

So not only are you a Hocker, not only are you a knocker but you are a Photo-gropher to. Seriously though, I think we have to be mekarev Ehud. As his personal Photographer you have the best chance at getting to him. maybe invite him for a Shabbos meal or something. Maybe teach him some divrei torah from Reb Dov that will blow his mind.

    >Although I don’t always see eye to eye with Mr. Olmert, he is still our JEWISH Prime Minister. Some respect is in order.

Our??? Respect??? For the man that threw 10,000 Jews out their homes without compassion or compensation in return for??? Nothing!! Unless you consider Kassams on Ashkelon an improvement. This is the idiot that made sure the Army was kept busy with the disengagement and couldn’t be bothered with little things like preparing for a war with Hezbollah in which a third of the country’s population was displaced and over 100 Jews were killed amid 4000 katyusha strikes. Mr. Olmert I spit on you and everything that you stand for. Chuuuuuuck, Ptoooey!
