MK Yogev Warns Of Safety Hazards And Dangers Surrounding School Bus Service Throughout Yehuda And Shomron

MK (Bayit Yehudi) Moti Yogev sent an urgent letter to the Director-General of the Prime Minister’s Office asking that the budget be upgraded to improve the protected transportation system in Yehuda and Shomron, which has not yet reached its required allocation.

“Tomorrow the school system will open,” says MK Yogev. “But the money promised to upgrade the protected transportation system throughout Yehuda and Shomron has not yet reached its target, and the school year will begin with severe defects in the entire bus system, including buses that have exceeded 1 million and even 1.5 million. Only recently a school bus was burned went into flames in the area of Psagot, and another bus lost its brakes.

About a year ago, a school bus burned during a trip to the Southern Hebron Hills. The chairman of the Subcommittee for Yehuda and Shomron MK Yogev, said, “For four years now we have been promoting the budget for upgrading the bus fleet, and unfortunately, 45 million shekels that was allocated is stuck for some reason in the Finance Committee.

“I said in the past and I say again, this is a real sakanas nefoshos and it is a shame that the budget will be approved in a situation too late. I call upon the concerned parties to transfer the money immediately. This also impairs the work of many workers recruited to the production lines after the budget was approved since the money was promised and their livelihood and the stability of the production lines are in danger. If the budget in the Finance Committee is not approved within a week, it is correct to suspend the studies and the transportation system until the funds are approved and allocated”.
