An IDF soldier was severely wounded and six others lightly injured this morning when a shell inadvertently exploded during maintenance work being done one on a missile ship in the Haifa naval base. Two other civilians employed by the IDF were injured in the incident.  The injured were evacuated to the Rambam hospital in Haifa to receive medical treatment.  The families of those involved were notified.  The incident will be fully investigated by the IDF.
