Necklaces, pendants, bracelets and unique coins with monetary and sentimental worth were recovered in a sophisticated activity in which three suspects were arrested while trying to sell jewelry and escape with the money.

In an initiated and focused operation by police property unit detectives at the beginning of the week, police noticed three Jerusalem residents suspected of possessing a bag containing gold jewelry and coins suspected of being stolen and suspicions of burglaries in the Jerusalem area.

As the covert activity progressed, the police noticed that the suspected suspects were trying to sell the jewelry and coins to a store in the center of the country. Police then revealed the investigation and arrested the suspects when the property was in their possession.

The suspects, 35,38, and 47, from Jerusalem, were brought for questioning in the Jerusalem Central Unit on suspicion of house raids and possession of property suspected of being stolen. Two of them have previous convictions for dealings with stolen property.

An in-depth examination of the seized property revealed that these were gold jewelry with rings, bracelets, necklaces and precious pendants and in unique coins. The estimated value of the property is tens of thousands of shekels.

The ongoing police investigation continues towards locating complainants who identify their stolen property and file their complaint with police.

The suspects were arraigned and ordered to remain behind bars until Monday Chol Hamoed Sukkos when another arraignment hearing will take place.
