PHOTOS: Assaf HaRofeh Hospital Announces Its Transportation Revolution

(PHOTOS IN EXTENDED ARTICLE)

The Assaf HaRofeh Medical Center is leading a transportation revolution in Israel by offering a free shuttle to the medical center from the beginning of November, starting from 8:00a m to 1:00pm every hour and every half hour between 8:30 and 13:30 .

The parking shortage in the hospital is nothing new as over10,000 vehicles enter and leave daily. In order to deal with the growing parking shortage and to ease traffic congestion and traffic jams in and around the medical center, the management of the Medical Center decided to come to patients and visitors and to arrange free transportation services for those coming to its gates.

The transportation will wait for patients near the entrance to the ‘Rishonim’ train station and the Azrieli mall, and take the patients to the large emergency room in the medical center, near the outpatient clinics.

The ride back will leave Assaf HaRofeh at the bus station near the Oncology Institute, opposite the entrance to the emergency room. On the ride there will be a sign saying “Free transportation to Assaf HaRofeh Medical Center”.

“As I assumed my position, I decided to provide an immediate response to the many patients and visitors to Assaf HaRofeh,” notes Dr. Osnat Levtzion Korach, Director of the Assaf HaRofeh Medical Center. “Since the establishment of the new mall and the Rishonim railway station near Highway 431, the area has become very accessible Rishon L’Tzion, Ness Tziona, Yavneh, Ramle, Lod, Modi’in and the surrounding areas. Now, we allow all of you to come by free public transportation to us, without worrying about parking space and without additional payment. ”
