Meet The New 84 Bus Line From Ammunition Hill Light Rail Station To Har HaZeisim

A new bus line is being introduced in Jerusalem, the 84, which will travel between the Jerusalem light rail Ammunition Hill station and Har HaZeisim from 8:30am to 7:45pm on Sundays through Thursdays. The bus will be fortified for passenger safety against rock attacks and it will permit one’s safe arrival at Har HaZeisim.

The new line, initiated and pushed by Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat for the benefit of the residents and tourists wishing to reach Har HaZeisim, was designed by the public transportation department of the Jerusalem Transportation Master Plan team. The new line will travel on a short and very efficient route from the light railway station at Ammunition Hill, the 7 Arches and Har HaZeisim, and back through Yitzhak HaNadiv / Martin Buber, the Hebrew University Boulevard near Mount Scopus and ending at the light railway station on Ammunition Hill.

It should be noted that the new line will be integrated in the future transportation system promoted by the municipality and connect the light railway to the cable car promoted by the municipality and reach Har HaZeisim. In addition, the municipality is promoting a series of transportation improvements in the region to optimize and improve traffic in the region.

Mayor Nir Barkat said, “Har HaZeisim is a central tourist attraction in Jerusalem, and a place of many residents. Every year millions of tourists from Israel and abroad visit the sites on the mountain and the need for proper public transport has become very important. I am certain that with the new line, many more will come to visit Har HaZeisim, and I would like to thank Minister of Transportation Yisrael Katz for his assistance and support in advancing the line and its approval.”

  1. The fear is walking in Har Zeisim, not getting to Har Hazeisim. It’s like having a bus drop you off in the middle of Chevron or the middle of Bethlehem.
