Finance Minister, Histadrut Leader And Teva Reps Meet


A meeting was held on Monday, 30 Kislev between Histadrut Chairman Avi Nissankoren, Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon and Economy Minister Eli Cohen along with representatives of Teva’s committees.

Histadrut chairman Nissankoren said: “The big battle is to reduce the number of laid-off workers. Teva must be left in Israel and the plants in Jerusalem saved. We are dealing here with a mega event that the Israeli economy has not seen for years and the government, the Histadrut and the workers must join hands in this struggle for the future of nature and to ensure the status of industry in Israel. ”

Minister of Finance Kahlon: “The government of Israel stands behind Teva workers and will not abandon them, and the government will use all the tools at its disposal to try to reduce the number of laid-off workers and close factories.”

Minister of Economics Cohen: “The demand from Teva and the CEO is to fulfill its commitment to the State of Israel a short while ago and not abandon them.

The high-level meeting was held a day following the Histadrut led a four-hour general strike, shutting down the nation as a first step to combat the planned firing of over 3,000 workers in Israel by Teva Pharmaceuticals.
