WATCH: Peleg Prisoners Are Wearing IDF Uniforms In Prison 4

(VIDEO IN EXTENDED ARTICLE)

While they first insisted they will not wear prison uniforms, Peleg prisoners in IDF Prison 4 have indeed agreed to wear the uniform, which in this case is an IDF uniform. As seen in the accompanying video and photo via Bichadrei Chareidim, a Peleg prisoner who was transported to court is in uniform.

Peleg prisoners first announced they would not comply with prison regulations regarding prison uniforms, prompting the prison commander to state he would place those unwilling to comply with regulations in isolation. It appears response was successful.

In the military court, the prosecution cited precedent as it requested to increase the punishment of Yaakov Karnei, asking the court to approve 150 days imprisonment. Justice Lt.-Colonel Ronen Shor rejected the request, citing the matter had already been adjudicated in an appeals court and therefore the issue would not be debated again.

Justice Shor decided the period of punishment for the Peleg detainees would range from 50-120 days, sentencing Karnei to 50 days for going absent during a year and eight months of military service. The prosecution objected to the minimal sentence, but the court accepted the position of defense attorney Menachem Stauber.

Karnei has been in Prison 4 for 32 days and is hoping to be released on Wednesday, 16 Teves. He has not expressed remorse for his actions and for not reporting to draft officials in compliance with the law, as per instructions from his rabbonim.

  1. good, may more of them wake up and actually wear the uniform of the IDF with pride and instead of wearing it in jail, wear it in the Nachal Haradi.

  2. For all the chillul Hashem and destruction of people’s lives, let these selfish prisoners wear these uniforms in prison for a long time. Let them realize that the world operates with a healthy combination of good midos, Torah learning, working, kiddish Hashem, and self sacrifice.

  3. It looks good on him. It would look even better with unit patches and a beret tucked into the shoulder strap like a real soldier but then Tofasta Meruba Lo Tofasta
