In an 84-0 vote on Monday night the eve of 28 Shevat, the Knesset passed a bill into law that will provide increase disability payments for those qualifying. This means anyone receiving a disability pension will receive a monthly increase from NIS 470 to NIS 700 per person, up to NIS 3,270 a month in stage one.

In accordance with the arrangement stipulated in the law, an additional increase may be forthcoming at the end of 2019, pending the approval of the Labor & Welfare Committee. The cost of the increase to the nation is NIS 4.34 billion annually.
