Chief Military Prosecutor Brigadier-General Sharon Afek announced on Thursday, 1 Rosh Chodesh Adar, that Brigadier-General Mordechai Kahane will be brought before a disciplinary hearing for violating a number of IDF regulations including conduct unbecoming a senior officer.
While Kahane was found in possession of on functional military equipment, in a storage shed, the military prosecutor has decided to drop criminal charges, but it has become evident the military does plan to push ahead with a disciplinary hearing.
During the probe against him, Kahane requested to end his current assignment to permit him to retire from the service. In light of this and the fact he did not use most of the items for anything, the decision was made to drop criminal charges and only pursue disciplinary charges,
