Chareidi Boy Teams Up With Lifesaving Paramedic For Purim

Shalom Dov Ber Yona, a 12-year-old boy from Arad whose life was saved when he fell in cardiac arrest two years ago, surprised the MDA team who saved his life when he came to visit dressed as a MDA paramedic for Purim.

On Tuesday, all the children dressed as superheroes, Ningj, princesses and more were seen as children dressed as medics and paramedics of Magen David Adom.

Yona’s life was saved thanks to the speedy and professional treatment of MDA paramedic Elyashiv Amitai and senior medic in MDA Yisrael Katz. This year, MDA teams in Arad were particularly excited when Shalom Dov Ber dressed himself as a paramedic in Magen David Adom.

Keren, Shalom’s mother: “Since the beginning of the month of Adar, he has been waiting for the MDA Paramedic, and today he is so excited, we brought him to the intensive care unit where he was transported, we talked about the event, and thank G-d the event is behind us and Shalom Dov Ber came to meet the paramedics who saved him, to thank them and to get a little feel what it is like to save lives. I thank the dear Elyashiv and Yisrael for the devoted care and saving of our dear son Shalom.

The paramedics spent some time with their guest of honor, permitting him to obtain a look at what being a paramedic is all about.
