Hatzolah Israel Volunteer Credited With Saving 100 Students

hatzolah israel.jpgh.jpgAbout 100 high-school students from Ramat Gan were on a school outing in Ein Gedi earlier today. While they were there, strong flash floods occurred in the area.

These flash floods come extremely suddenly and are known to turn dry river-beds into roaring rivers within minutes! They are capable of sweeping away everything in its path.

Luckily this time, it was less violent.

A volunteer from Hatzolah Israel accompanied the students on their hike He was able to contact the “moked ha’artzi” Hatzolah Israel’s national transmission line. This line was used to update the Ein Gedi rescue unit on the exact location of the students. They were thereby able to direct the students to safety.

Thanks to the Hatzolah Israel volunteer and the“moked ha’artzi”, many lives were able to be saved!

Unfortunately, YWN reported earlier (HERE) that a young American tourist lost his life in these floods.
