Code Red On The Airwaves

idf riot.jpgThe code red siren, alerting impending rocket fire, will now sound on “Radio South” Station 101.5 beginning this afternoon. The station will broadcast its regular programing, but in the event of an impending rocket attack, a code red siren will sound warning residents of southern towns.

The Homefront Command continues its mission to protect the south:

Sirens blared throughout the day in Ashkelon and neighboring towns. 90 percent of Ashkelon’s shelters have been repaired and reopened for the city’s residents by Homefront Command  teams and municipal workers. After examination, the teams confirmed that the shelters were suitable for the current crises. The Homefront Command made sure to review the proper procedures for entering apartment protected areas when the warning sirens sound with the residents of Ashkelon, Sderot and the towns surrounding the Gaza Strip.

If there is not a shelter nearby,  residents should find the closest protected area, keeping clear of windows and outer walls in order to avoid shrapnel injury.

A week ago, due to the barrage of rockets on Ashkelon, the Homefront Command began distributing information to the residents of Ashkelon, Sderot and communities surrounding the Gaza Strip. Schools are scheduled to recommence tomorrow.

Commander of the Homefront Commands Southern District, Colonel David Simchi, said,”The Homefront Command in coordination with the municipalities are doing all that is possible to preserve normalcy for the lives of the residents of southern towns.”

  1. ‘normalcy’ is not what you write it is.it is a state of being to live and let live and not expecting terrorism in your community at any given moment.i am not a military expert or a politician. i really dont know how to solve the serious problem of rockets coming down from the sky into ones community.what seems obvious is that haven given the arabs the gaza strip was a serious mistake. how does one undo that ‘nesina’? unfortunately unless the west and israel zeroe in to the iranians, and in a big way, the world is in for a lot of trouble.today the president of iran is touring iraq and censured by the un security council? it is insane that we let that man into iraq in the first place. an arch enemy of the west allowed into a country that has its troops in harms way to restore law and order in that country;absurd and crazy!the west always learns the hard way.

  2. It’s idiocy like this that makes one a ma’amin: Only HKB”H could cause politicians to act so foolishly in repeatedly constraining a military force, which, b’derech hatevah, could obliterate its enemy in a heartbeat.

Ela mai? It is our behavior, not the power of the IDF, nor the diplomacy of the politicians, that influence what happens, and how Hashem pulls their strings.
