This a joint message from the U.S. Consulate General in Jerusalem and the U.S. Embassy in Tel Aviv, dated May 8, 2018.

In preparation for the opening of the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem on Monday, May 14, 2018, the Consular Section of the U.S. Consulate General in Jerusalem (located at 14 David Flusser Street) is temporarily suspending all public non-emergency consular appointments from Wednesday, May 9, 2018 through Tuesday, May 15, 2018. This includes appointments for American Citizen Services (passports, Consular Reports of Birth Abroad, and notarial services), Visas (immigrant and nonimmigrant), and Federal Benefits.

During this period, the Consular Section will continue to assist U.S. citizens in emergency cases such as deaths, arrests, detentions, missing persons, repatriations, hospitalizations, or victims of crime. Emergency passport services will also be available, with the exception of Monday, May 14. U.S. citizens in Jerusalem, the West Bank, and Gaza can continue to contact the U.S. Consulate General in Jerusalem for emergencies at [email protected]

During this period, the Consular Section of the U.S. Embassy in Tel Aviv and the Consular Agency in Haifa will remain open.

U.S. citizens needing emergency passports or Consular Reports of Birth Abroad during this period are encouraged to contact the American Citizen Services Unit at the U.S. Embassy in Tel Aviv at [email protected]. Visa applicants needing expedited or emergency visa appointments during this period are encouraged to read the information here.

A separate message will be sent regarding the new contact information for the consular sections in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv post-May 14th.
