Despite An Issur Kares, Har Habayis Open To Jewish Visitors On Yom Yerushalayim

A special call was made by Har Habayis activists to come to the holy site on Sunday, 28 Iyar, Yom Yerushalayim. The site was scheduled to be open to visitors from 7:30AM-11:00AM and then from 1:30PM-2:30PM.

The poster advertising the event calls on persons planning to come to first toivel in a mikve and to remove one’s leather shoes.

As seen in the attached photo, there was a considerable wait for those mispallalim on line for the Sunday morning visit to the site.

Gedolei Yisrael throughout the generations along with the Chief Rabbinate of Israel, have prohibited visiting Har Habayis.

  1. The headline is misleading because Some parts of har habbies is motter to go (as long as you are not טמא קרי) (its true however that gedolim were against going up because maybe won’t go to the Mikva maybe he will go to far etc.

  2. THE ISSUR KARES IS ONLY ON THE AZORA – THE AREA OF THE BEIS HAMIKDASH AND THE COURTYARDS,NOT ON THE REST OF THE HAR HABAYIS
