The Central Election Committee in its response to the Otzma Yisrael petition to the High Court of Justice explained in its opinion, the party’s infomercial “has a hint of racism and it is denigrating to the entire Arab public”.

Otzma Yisrael was unwilling to accept the election committee’s ruling, prompting the appeal to the High court, rejecting the allegations that the infomercial does not seek to paint the Arab community in a derogatory fashion. The case against the party was presented to the High Court by the attorney general’s office.

Otzma Yisrael stated it is simply trying to show the Arab community by and large does not serve the country.

The deliberation on the appeal is on the court’s calendar for Monday 3 Shevat 5773.
