On Tuesday evening there was a kenos chizuk for bnei yeshivos as Bain Hazmanim starts, led by HaGaon HaRav Chaim Kanievsky and HaGaon HaRav Gershon Edelstein. The kenos was arranged by askan Rav Refael Meir, intended to give chizuk to Yeshiva Bochrim and direct them to act as they should and not be attracted by the influences in the street.

HaGaon HaRav Meir Druk quoted Rav Kanievsky saying, “Talmidei yeshiva must be very cautious, particular to refrain from visiting dangerous places during the month of Av, which is a risky time.

“Talmidei yeshivos must set times for limud Torah daily, and not to miss it. They must be careful to protect their eyes and to refrain to visit places where they can connect to impurities”. In addition, Rav Kanievsky called on talmidim “to remain stringent regarding all halachos during bein hazmanim including attending minyan, birchas kohanim, and to make sure use of electricity and water on Shabbos is in line with halacha”.

Rav Edelstein addressed the draft hanging over the heads of bnei yeshivos. “There is a danger, the draft law. It cannot be overcome without the merit of Torah and therefore, we must increase limud Torah these days. The curiosity of the talmidei yeshivos regarding the draft decree and what was done in the government and Knesset is useless and a waste of time,” stated Rav Edelstein, adding, “at this time, we must learn Gemara and finish Shas”.
