Another Bain Hazmanim Story: Chareidi Yeshiva Students Rescued After Their Raft Gets Swept Out To Sea

Another warning regarding the dangers lurking for those planning vacations: Two Jerusalem yeshiva students in their twenties were rescued by the Police Marine Unit on the Kinneret on Wednesday after they were dragged more than three miles out to the center of the lake by a strong undertow. The boys were riding on a rubber dinghy.

A resident notified police about the boys being swept out to sea just after 8:00AM on Wednesday morning. According to the person who reported the incident, the boys were swept out a long distance from the shore by Ha’On Beach on the eastern side of the Kineret, without a way to return.

The police finally located the boys some 3.4 miles from the beach and returned them to the beach safely.

  1. Your headline shows the disdain that YWN has for Bnei Torah. It boggles the mind. “Another” “Charedie”. Your insinuation that somehow all Frum Yeshiva bachurim are irresponsible boors leaves me wondering which website am I on? Now of course these things never happen to chilonim. Only in Thailand, I guess.

  2. I was at the kineret. The lifeguards are doing their best, but the beaches are crowded during ben hazmanim. The lifeguards repeatedly warned people to stay within the roped area. A few bachurim repeatedly ignored them. The lifeguards did their job with patience and professionalism, doing their best while keeping a cool head.
