PHOTOS: Modi’in Illit Child in Serious Condition After Falling from Balcony

A 5-year-old child fell from a first floor balcony in Modi’in Illit on Thursday afternoon, and is reported to be in serious condition in Sheba Medical Center at Tel Hashomer.

The four-story building is located on Netivot HaMishpat Street in the city, and it appears concrete fell from a crane onto the balcony the child was on. The force of the impact tore off the railing and the child fell with the railing to the ground below, to the minus one level, striking his head.

United Hatzalah EMT Yisrael Beker told the media that according to passersby, he fell with the balcony railing, which was ripped off due to the concrete falling as a result of a construction mishap.
