PHOTOS: Israel Police Dedicate a Shul & Memorial Room for the Members of the Force Who Made the Ultimate Sacrifice in Jerusalem

(PHOTOS IN EXTENDED ARTICLE)

In a moving ceremony last week, Israel Police dedicated a shul and memorial room for members of the force, particularly those who served in Jerusalem, the 115 members of the force who fell in the line of duty since the establishment of the state in 1948. Among those taking part in the ceremony were Police Chief Roni Alshich and Jerusalem Chief Yoram Halevi. The ceremony took place in the Russian Compound in downtown Jerusalem.

The location of the commemoration room in the heart of the Jerusalem police clearly symbolizes the direct connection between the generations of police officers who served in Jerusalem and those who lost their lives in the line of duty, serving with mesirus nefesh for the safety of the citizens, and the historical building in which the Jerusalem district has operated since its establishment in the district in 1948.
