At 11:56AM Monday, 6 Marcheshvan, Magen David Adom received a call for a stabbing at Gitai Junction in Shomron, with one male wounded seriously.

It appears a Palestinian male armed with a knife ran towards IDF soldiers, who instructed the man to halt. When he failed to do so, they fired at him, wounding him seriously. He was later pronounced dead.

B’chasdei Hashem, there are no injuries to intended victims of the failed attack.

Gitai Avissar Junction is located between Ariel and Barkan Interchange and connects to the old Trans-Samaria Highway, Route 505.

Monday’s attempted stabbing took place near the Barkan Industrial Park, where a Palestinian shot and killed two of his coworkers — Kim Levengrond Yehezkel and Ziv Hajbi — and wounded a third, Sara Vaturi, last Sunday.

The suspect, Ashraf Na’alowa, fled the scene and has eluded capture.
