Israeli Police Suspended Use of Radar Guns

The head of Israel Police’s traffic division last week issued an order suspending the use of radar guns, a device which is subject to controversy in many countries/states.

The order halting the use of the device was temporary, until the investigation was completed into last week’s incident in which a policeman with a radar gun was hit by a passing vehicle. The officer sustained moderate injuries near Kibbutz Ma’agan Michael.

Late Monday afternoon, police announced it will be implementing some changes regarding use of the radar gun to improve personnel safety, adding the radar device /is once again back at work.
