An assault against a nurse in Nahariya Hospital over the weekend has prompted a two-hour protest strike by hospital staff on Sunday to bring increased attention to the sharp in crease in such attacks in hospitals around the country. 

Sunday’s strike will take place between 12:00-14:00. Emergency cases however will be addressed. Yehuda Malka, the hospital’s union representative, told Galei Tzahal (Army Radio) on Sunday morning that something must be done to bring a halt to such attacks.

Hospital officials add that an angry family member, who assaulted the nurse, threatened to kill him too.
