Yeshiva Bochur Yitzchak Aryeh in a number of days will become the latest star in the Peleg lineup, another bochur who defied the IDF and its draft registration demands, now being released from military prison.

There have been numerous protests on Aryeh’s behalf, as Peleg Yerushalmi followers refuse to report to an induction office to register and to receive a legal draft deferment. They follow the psak of HaGaon HaRav Shmuel Auerbach ZT”L, who insisted one may not cooperate with military officials in any way whatsoever, minor as it may be.

According to a BeChadrei Chareidim report, a military judge on Monday ruled that Aryeh would serve 37 days, agreeing to factor in the 32 days already served, permitting his release from IDF Prison this erev Shabbos.

Aryeh was arrested while working in a Peleg campaign station ahead of municipal elections in Modi’in Illit. After police saw him listed as AWOL by IDF authorities, he was handed over to the military police and has been in jail since.

He will become the next star, another Peleg bochur who did not break, remaining defiant while in prison too, refusing to put on a military uniform, which prisoners wear, remaining steadfast in his hashkafa.

Peleg officials are calling the court’s ruling “an open miracle”, explaining he was expecting to receive 90 days in prison.
